Quiet-Stack
I've been quiet here, but fairly loud in real life.
Hi!
SEPTEMBER: I got acupuncture weekly. I started working a part-time job in addition to my full-time job. I did reformer-pilates weekly. My partner of a year and I called our committed-partnered-relationship quits. I saw the movie, WEAPONS in a theater and thought it was terrible. I binged the tv show THE CROWN and thought it was great. I went to Vermont with my Zeno Mountain cancer survivor/thriver crew for the second September in a row. I moderated a very inspiring panel for the Latinx Storytellers Conference. I drank wine with some of my oldest friends. I attended the inaugural People of Publishing conference and got to meet some of the coolest of the cool literary agents like Alia Hanna Habib. I ate ice cream with some of my oldest friends. I bathed in August flowers from the Pacific Northwest. I borrowed a good friend’s car drove upstate for my first ever Basilica Hudson Soundscape and loved it. I went to Opus 40 Sculpture Park and Museum, which I hadn’t heard of until that weekend. I went to Storm King for the first time, accompanied by my best friend from college. I felt a lot of abundance. My breast cancer check-ups were all good. I got rid of some clutter. I flew to my hometown in Texas to check in on my mom who had a fall. I took a watercolor painting class just for fun.
OCTOBER: A friend and I went to a live taping of the Jimmy Kimmel show. Another friend and I went to an experimental comedy show. I finally got rid of the electric-recliner I got in 2021 for my mastectomy-recovery. I got some vaccines. I made extra money by cat sitting for a neighbor. I received a free custom tailored “men’s” dress shirt in exchange for writing a review about the experience. I sold some cute clothes that I never wore. A friend and I saw the play, Weather Girl. I acquired a hammock-chair and it’s the best item of furniture that has come into my life in YEARS. A friend and I saw Team Dresch play live and they were as good as they always are, which is great. My friend, Samantha Morgan chopped my hair off. I attended a really inspiring publishing event at the Bronx Public Library. I tried to see the Dear New York exhibit at Grand Central, but it was so uncomfortably crowded that it was like trying to see art during a crowded opening reception, where you can’t really see anything but the people who are there—-which is interesting in its own way. I started to fantasize about dying my hair blonde. I got a pet-camera for all my travels. And then I went to France…and…Portugal!
Anyhow, talking about my trips to France and Portugal are their own posts. For now, I am writing this so that you know I am happy, grateful and alive.

Love everything about this! <3
